Yelp and other review sites were not around when I was a resident. Now everyone can evaluate you 360 degrees, which is a good thing. Before, no one would know if a certain MD had a good bedside manner or was a good surgeon unless they asked an insider (such as a friend or better, Nurse, who worked directly with the doctor). Now the whole world has the potential to see how good you really are and if you are loved by your patients. This is a good thing.
Receiving continual corrections on how to be better can sometimes be a bitter pill to swallow, but in the end, it is good for one’s humility and helps us get closer to heaven.
So let me know how I can be better. I am open to change and want to be the best doctor possible for my patients.
