Why Does My Eye Hurt So Much? Neuropathic Pain

Chronic eye pain can be one of the most frustrating conditions for patients. Often surgeons and doctors do not see anything abnormal on exams, blood tests, and even under the microscope. Still patients can have debilitating pain.

I posted about many of my patients who have “pain without stain” and the devastation it can bring.

Below is more research on the use of autologous (the patient’s own) stem cells to treat this debilitating condition.

With Dr. Vicker’s permission (who works in Australia), below is his excellent review on the subject and his research on the use of stem cells to help this debilitating condition. He has since started injecting patient’s own adipose derived stem cell with good results but those results are pending publication.

Hopefully stem cell therapy will provide a better treatment option than what we have now.
