This is our 5th patient who had IPL for a chalazia and the chalazia resolved externally on the slit lamp microscope (and one could see the improvement even without a microscope). The improvement is visible also on meibography.
IPL is an alternative to excision for styes and chalazia to save the glands.

There was a large chalazion in the patient’s Right Lower Lid noted by the darkness on the meibography.
After 6 IPL treatments all the glands refilled except one, but even that one is producing some oil noted on eyelid expression. The other surrounding glands show more oil as well.
