Intense Pulse Light (IPL) Appears to Save Meibomian Glands and Helps Heal Styes and Chalazia

This is our 5th patient who had IPL for a chalazia and the chalazia resolved externally on the slit lamp microscope (and one could see the improvement even without a microscope). The improvement is visible also on meibography. IPL is an alternative to excision for styes and chalazia to save the glands. SLC

Is IPL Safe? Does IPL Work?

Having now used IPL on almost 100 patients, I have found IPL to be very safe and effective. Here is another paper showing IPL is safe.
